First Steps

I just came, what have i to do ?

Congrats, your contract is registered. Now...what do you have to do ?
You shold receive soon at your office a mail providing you a personnal username : 6 numbers preceded by a letter. U for the staff, S for the students.

With that, you will be able to connect to ULg intranet, GIGA intranet but this isn't it.
In fact, this is what is required too to log into the Mass Storage, the Computing Grid and some web tools like our versionning platform (GitLab).

Being really important, if nothing come to you feel free to contact the SeGI at phone number : 49 99.

ULg mail adress ?

All our staff are given a personnal email adress.

In order to enable it, once you've got your username, log into :
ULg intranet > Mes Services > Services courriel > Activer adresse de courriel.

From that point, you can set up some mailbox software on your computer(s) and/or phone/tablet.
But if you prefear to travel light, a Web mailbox is also available at the adress : https://mail.ulg.ac.be.

CECI credentials ?

A bit further in this wiki we will talk more in details about the Computing Grid (do not worry if you don't understand this yet).

We, at GIGA, have one of those things that you'll be able to access with your ULg username but in some cases you might want more processing power.
There comes the CECI, it works like our system but give you access to a network of computers scarced in several Belgian Universities.

If you wish to access this one, the first prerequise will be to access their website and from there, Create an account (top right of the page).

Conclusion !

Now you are prepared to enter within us at GIGA.
