  • "I am new to GIGA, what have i to do ?"
  • "What is the Mass Storage ?"
  • "What is the so-called Grid ?"

Well, that is why this website exist.

There are many things to be aware of, but be reassured, everything is written down.

What do i need

Informations about :

Web-based tools

Web-based tools are the friends of those who dislike the Terminal, way of communication with the Grid and so Linux-related.

What follows are the available -so far- plateforms. In addition to their adresses, for the most curious are informations About them but for the others, who just want to know Howto use them are given "Step-by-step" articles.

This Wiki - Information board About
OpenAtrium - A Project Manager for Usergroups, tasks and logistics management About Howto
Galaxy - A computational biology research platform About Howto
Cytomine - A collaborative imaging analysis platform About Howto
RStudio - A web IDE for R About Howto
GitLab - A versioning platform About Howto

Grid-based tools

For the bravest are also available "not-so-user-friendly" yet more precise and powerful tools : the Linux-related ones.

Concerning those, we will talk about them in separate articles like Computing Grid and How to use Linux.
