Many GIGA members might just need a small storage space and a running standard computer :
They got DoX which is a cloud storage (synchronized with a defined space on the user's computer), owned by ULiège and which is backuped every night.
Others, like the ones working in genomics or imaging platforms, would require more space and/or processing power for their datas :
Huge storage and high throughtput computing infrastructures are available.
But that's not all :
Are also provided several tools and/or web-platforms, a backuping system for big datas, as well as How-to's and on-demand training sessions.
What do i need to know
Depending on "who you are", "what you do", "how you work", etc. are available several informations.
Those being :
- I am at GIGA (Local use of a computer) :
- I am outside GIGA (Secured remote connection) :
- I need to store non-scientific data, OR i don't handle big datasets, and back it up (DoX / Cloud storage) :
- I need to store huge scientific data (Mass Storage) :
- I need to backup scientific data (Tapes Library) :
- I need to process scientific data (Grid computing / High throughput processing) :
- I need to share scientific data with people outside ULiège (DoX alternative / Mass Storage mount) :
